Johnson After doing my research, and finding many poorly-reviewed hard drives out there of this size, it occurred to me to check out the reviews at Macworld, where this drive received high praise. I agree! It's very quiet, and the choice of connections has me ready for Firewire 800 when I upgrade my Mac next year. Currently, I connect with my Firewire 400 to my PowerBook G4, and have no complaints about the speed (I initially attempted the use of USB2, but that was exponentially slower, and I soon gave up.). The unit seems to be well made, and not of plastic, which not only would seem to indicate quality of construction, but also looks smart next to the computer, though I know that is the least important of its features. 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Borroto I purchased this drive for video work, including high-definition post-production with Apple Prores422HQ files. I has performed flawlessly, it's fast, it's quiet and reliable. What else can you ask for? Verbatim includes every cable imaginable, and the power cable is a standard 3-prong female to grounded male because the power supply is built into the drive. It's equipped with quad interface (FW800, FW400, USB, eSATA) so you can connect it in various ways to your computer, or daisy chain it to other drives (FW only).I definitely recommend this drive based on my experience.
