Excellent for SOHO servers By Marco Figueiredo I have a Dell PowerEdge T610 at home for archiving regular data (spreadsheets and so on), photos and home-made videos. I also work with TI and it serves as my lab. The server is always on - 24x7 - and with all 8 bays occupied, I was tired of replacing regular PC WD 2 GBytes discs every month. After some tests with a couple of these Hitachi hard drives, I decided to replace all disks in my server. Couldn't be happier! The I/O is twice faster than before and no more disks dying all the time. The rebuilt of a 3 Tb disk in RAID 6 took no longer than 3 hours. Also they are very, very quite.
